Patrick Raymond F. Atilano tiz000028c THE PINK CARAVAN 2015 The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation marks its 20th anniversary with its retro-styled Pink Caravan this year. The Pink Caravan has been part of the breast cancer awareness campaign that has been launched by the NZBCF since the start of its various programmes for women’s health promotion in New Zealand. The Pink Caravan will be visiting 32 towns of New Zealand as part of its itinerary with a mission to provide breast health information to the men and women who need access to free medical breast check-up, breast cancer monitoring, inquiries, and to be able to sign a petition for an extended government support for free mammogram screening to older patients. This paper aims to evaluate the Pink Caravan breast cancer awareness campaign programme of NZBCF for 2015. The Pink Caravan is an on-the-road campaign programme to provinces, with no easy access to breast health services in New Zealand, to be able to invite women and even men to get into the Pink Caravan and avail of its free medical consultation and inquiries information without the need for an appointment. The 32 targeted towns included the areas along the Far North to Southland of New Zealand. The caravan travels from town to town to provide access to the women, as well as the men, who need health care particularly on breast cancer awareness and medication.
